Take the Picture

Updated: Apr 14

I wanted to share a simple yet powerful reminder with you: always take the picture, no matter what. Life is a collection of moments, both big and small, and sometimes, it’s easy to let the fear of imperfection hold us back from capturing these precious memories.

Don’t let the pursuit of perfection deter you from freezing a moment in time. Whether you’re having a bad hair day, wearing your comfiest pajamas, or feeling less than your best, remember that these moments are a part of your authentic journey. They’re a testament to the real, beautiful, and imperfect you.

You see, it’s often those candid, unfiltered snapshots that end up being the most cherished. They reflect the genuine emotions, the spontaneous laughter, and the unscripted stories of our lives. And in the future, you’ll be grateful for these snapshots of your life’s chapters, imperfect as they may seem in the moment.

So, whether it’s a selfie with friends, a family gathering, or a solo adventure, don’t hesitate. Take the picture. Embrace the imperfections because they are what make life’s tapestry so uniquely beautiful. You never know when that picture might become a cherished memory of a time that can never be relived.

I just love these pictures of my mom, aunt, cousins, and I. We don’t see each other often. Distance keeps us apart, we all live a minimum of 5 1/2 hours away from one another. I haven’t seen one in a year, another in 8, and another in 13 years. Take the picture you don’t know when the next chance will be or if there will even be that chance. Life is fleeting and I’m glad, though the circumstances were sad, that I got these pictures.
